A man who police say scammed an elderly Luzerne County couple out of almost $10,000 has been arrested. 20-year-old Cristopher Mauricio of Philadelphia called an 87-year-old man and his 85-year-old wife, telling them that their grandson had been arrested and needed $9,600 for bail.
