A Scranton Police officer has died in Luzerne County. Officer John Hallock served with the Scranton Police Department for more than 24 years. Officer Hallock, who began his career with Scranton Police in 1999 died in a non-work-related swimming pool accident over the weekend in Luzerne County.

Scranton Rope Rescue

A rope rescue at Step Falls in Scranton resulted in an injured person getting to a nearby hospital for treatment of what, according to the Lackawanna County Communications Center, were multiple non-life threatening injuries. It happened yesterday just before 4pm under the Harrison Avenue Bridge. No names have been released.
