Accused killer Bryan Kohberger of the Poconos, returned to an Idaho courtroom Thursday, as his attorneys allege prosecutors withheld DNA evidence. Kohberger faces charges for the deaths of four University of Idaho students. He was arrested in the Poconos shortly after the killings in Idaho.

A New York man has been sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for passing counterfeit $20 bills in northeastern Pennsylvania. 27 year old Dejuan Smartt of Brooklyn must also pay restitution totaling $6,300 to a whopping total of 16 stores. Smartt will serve three years of supervised release after his prison term.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, Pennsylvania State Police reported over 400 DUI arrests. Their annual enforcement detail saw 756 crashes, resulting in 181 injuries and six fatalities. Intoxicated driving was a factor in 46 crashes, including one fatal incident. Troopers arrested 467 drivers for DUI and issued 28,036 citations.

Two people were arrested after overdosing at a hotel. Wilkes-Barre City Police say Joshua Patrick and Christina Brojakowski, both from Wilkes-Barre, were found unresponsive while an eight-year-old child was present. Patrick and Brojakowski now face multiple charges, including endangering the welfare of children and possession of drug paraphernalia.

44-year-old Anthony Ruffino is charged with homicide after 68-year-old Mary Harvey’s death in Dickson City from blunt force trauma. Ruffino initially denied involvement, but police say he later confessed to hitting Harvey with a pan during an altercation. Ruffino is also charged with tampering with evidence.
