One person was shot Wednesday afternoon at an Edwardsville apartment complex. Wyoming Valley West School District went into a “restrictive” lockdown around 12:30pm. State Police say the suspect remains at large. The victim was taken to Geisinger Medical Center and is expected to live. The investigation is ongoing.

A Wayne County man is headed to prison for the online enticement of a minor. 43 year old Michael Walczyk of Beach Lake, pleaded guilty to knowingly persuading. inducing, enticing, and coercing a 14 year old girl to engage in sex acts for the purposes of producing child pornography.Yesterday, Walczyk was sentenced to 30-years in prison, followed by a 10-year term of supervised release. He must also pay $2,900 in restitution to the victim, and forfeit more than $3,000 in proceeds from selling admission to the child pornography live streams.

A man is wanted who police say stole more than $2,200 in merchandise from Home Depot in Luzerne County, simply by walking out of the store with lights and flooring without paying. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department.

Some recently discovered internal messages show that Penn State leaders are finishing layoff plans this month, and they say that while the university is in a “vulnerable state” it is not in a “financial crisis.” A Penn State administrator directed university leaders representing nearly all departments to submit the number of employees they plan to lay off by the end of June.
