Scientists are warning that the virus referred to as the “zombie deer disease” could eventually spread to humans. It’s also known as chronic wasting disease, and it has been reported here in Pennsylvania. The disease causes changes in the hosts’ brains and nervous systems. It’s known to spread through deer, it’s always fatal, and there currently are no known treatments or vaccines. So far though, no known case of chronic wasting disease in humans has ever been recorded.
