Conservation Easement Applications Now Being Accepted

Mifflin County’s Agricultural Land Preservation Board is now accepting applications until June 28th for the Agland Preservation Program. This initiative, also known as the “Conservation Easement Program,” aims to preserve the county’s valuable agricultural land by purchasing or receiving donations of conservation easements. Eligible farmland must meet specific criteria, including being located in an Agricultural Security Area and containing high-quality soils. The program, administered by the Mifflin County Conservation District, has already preserved 31 farms totaling 3,434 acres. Landowners interested in applying can visit the district’s website or office for more information.
