The Mayor of Wilkes-Barre has issued a “CODE BLUE,” warning for today, Wednesday, and Thursday due to freezing temperatures. The Code Blue Emergency Shelter Program will be administered by Keystone Mission.

Flames broke out Sunday morning at a Northeastern Pennsylvania supermarket. The fire at Dave’s Super Duper in Honesdale was quickly contained. The store was closed until the health department could check it out. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed.

Flames broke out at a home along Poplar Street in Kingston around 4:30 Monday afternoon. 5 people were inside. They all got out safely. The house suffered heavy damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

More than 100 people were left in the dark and in the cold late Monday night in Moosic. A power outage was said to be impacting about 163 customers, but so far no word on what may have caused it. Repairs were expected to be completed early this morning.
