Peoples Financial Services Corp. has finalized its merger with FNCB Bancorp, creating a new entity with $5.5 billion in assets. The combined organization will operate under the Peoples Financial name, with shares trading on Nasdaq. The merger, valued at $129 million, expands the company’s presence across Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey.

A 13-year-old boy is recovering after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle on Schlager Avenue in Scranton around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The boy’s family reports he is alert but bruised and is being treated at the hospital. Scranton police are investigating the crash, but the driver will not face charges.
