PPL is asking the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission for approval to increase the maximum energy distribution charge from 5% to 9%. If approved, starting January 1, the change would raise residential bills by about $2.37 per month, or $28.44 annually. Customers only have until the end of the day today to protest the proposed increase.
