In Wilkes-Barre Township, a man has been convicted for a 2018 murder. 47 year old Anthony Shaw of East Orange, New Jersey, was charged with the stabbing murder of 39-year-old Cindy Ashton in May 2018. On Wednesday, Shaw was convicted of criminal homicide and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Thousands of residents in Northeastern Pennsylvania were left without power due to severe weather conditions. As of 10:45 last night, PPL reported over 16,000 customers were affected. Restoration efforts are underway, but power isn’t expected to be fully restored before 11 tonight.
