More Than One Million Patients Data Compromised In Geisinger Data Breach

Geisinger patients are being informed that a former employee of an IT service provider, may have accessed their personal information. The employee is now facing federal charges after possibly having accessed data of over one million patients, including names, birth dates, addresses, and medical records. No financial or Social Security information was compromised.

Police are continuing to investigate an incident in Wilkes-Barre. That investigation led to a heavy presence of law enforcement in the 100 block of Bowman Street.
