Avian influenza has been devastating to poultry farmers, especially here in Pennsylvania. Now, an outbreak of the so-called “bird flu” has caused the Pennsylvania Game Commission to release some of its winter pheasants earlier than planned. Another 4,000 or so will also be held back and retained as potential brooding stock for next year.
