A man was arrested by State Police after a chase on the North Cross Valley Expressway with two children in the car that ended in a crash in Wilkes-Barre. 28 year old Joevanny Lopez of Connecticut, was pulled over for speeding, but ignored troopers, initiating the pursuit. The Scranton Fire Department has disclosed the cause of the fire at Giant Market. According to their report, the fire ignited from roof insulation due to a hot water pressure washer used for cleaning. Investigators have deemed the incident accidental.

Due to the storms that passed through our area, dozens of homes and businesses were left without power Wednesday in Lackawanna County. Over 100 people were affected by a tree down on wires, according to PPL. The issue was said to have been resolved around 2:30 this morning.
